Assessment for Samara's 'New Elizabethan' Hair Design - Evaluation In the Role of the Hair Stylist
Overall I was so pleased with how I created Samara's final design as I personally think this was best I had ever done. I definitely think this what the designer wanted her hair design to look like. I really enjoyed creating her final design as well as I made sure to concentrate so that it came out perfect, I made sure I was very professional as I was very organised for example how I kept my station as I wanted it to be easily accessible. I stuck to Samara's step by step guide and her Hair design.
I used hair spray and wax to make sure there would be no fly away's in the images after and I found this worked really well, I also in the end used bobby pins to secure any of the piece's of layers that stuck out of the braid and I was very pleased with how that looked as I found this difficult to do in the practice sessions as Samara had shorted hair in places. I was particularly impressed with how the normal plait looked at the back as I'd struggled in the practice sessions hiding the hair tie holding the plait, But I think I hide it really well in the assessment.
I love how the photo's came out as you can see every single detail of the french braid and the decorative pearls really help to make the braid stand out better. I think the only thing I change next time would be to pull the section of hair that's meant to be sloping down a little more as you can see from the Hair design it's sloping quite a lot. Overall though I enjoyed creating Samara's hair design on her and I think it really helped me improve some of the techniques I struggle with normally.
